Examples

Built around ordinary audio handoffs.

Not a broadcast platform, not a meeting bot. Just a clean way to move system audio from the computer that has it to the computer where you want to hear it.

Desk Mac to couch laptop

The iMac is playing a mix. The MacBook on the couch receives it without moving cables.

Presentation computer to booth

The presenter shares system output while the control room listens on the same network.

Flow

Four steps from silence to a saved pair.

Audio Stream keeps setup intentional: senders grant audio access, receivers discover nearby computers, and the code decides who can listen.

01

Choose Send Audio

The sending computer asks for system audio access once, then keeps a permanent device code.

02

Find nearby devices

Receivers discover available senders on the local network, like an AirDrop-style audio handshake.

03

Enter the device code

The receiver enters the sender's six-digit code before any audio stream opens.

04

Reconnect automatically

Saved peers reconnect when both machines return to the same network, unless someone disconnects.

Allow System Audio

Send Audio verifies macOS system audio access before this computer can share what is playing.

Interface

Clean windows for setup, settings, and the tray.

The app keeps daily controls compact while moving first-run decisions, permissions, and setup help into dedicated windows.

Details

Small decisions that make the connection feel calm.

One desktop app handles sending and listening, with local network discovery, code pairing, saved peers, and signed update artifacts for macOS and Windows releases.

One app, two modes

Start Send mode on the audio source and Listen mode on the receiver. Both sides use the same app.

Code-paired

The sender displays a six-digit code, so nearby receivers only connect when invited.

LAN only

Audio stays on the local network, with no account flow or relay service in the first release.

Privacy

Local-first by design.

Audio Stream is for nearby devices on your network. There is no account flow, no cloud relay in the v1 transport, and no remote storage of your audio.
